College Writing 101

After graduating high school, students are faced with a barrage of questions.

  • What’s your plan?
  • Are you going to college?
  • Where are you going?
  • What’s you major?
  • What’s your passion?

Not only are students expected to know the answers to all of these questions, but they also need to perform academically.

Writing is one of the subjects with which high-school students struggle most. This makes the high school to college transition all the more difficult because colleges and universities often emphasize writing skills at much higher degrees than do high schools.

That’s why I made the College Writing 101 section of Enhance My Writing: to help bridge the gap between high-school and college writing.

Here, you will find articles on any number of topics that students are expected to familiarize themselves with upon entering college and during their time at college. My emphasis is undergraduate college writing, but you might see some graduate level writing topics as well.

Over time, I will be expanding this section, so if you don’t see a particular topic now, it may be added in the future.
